t is not everyday that the managers of Nokia arena at Yad Eliyahu get to host the Ezra Lemarpeh children. In a league game of the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team, it looks entirely different… while the players run on the parquet in order to gather more points, the pediatric patients are being hosted in the honoree box together with the volunteers of the organization.
The Ezra LeMarpeh Association, founded by Rabbi A. E. Firer, provides assistance to the sick and needy.
Reinforcements at the Nokia Arena
They enjoy sitting in luxurious armchairs and receiving VIP treatment with a graciously served, festive meal. For a moment, it seems that the excitement gripping the children is making them oblivious to the game being played at the time. Meanwhile, Maccabi Tel Aviv scores points to the sounds of the children’s cheers and their encouragements, together with thousands of spectators. The children enjoyed each moment and definitely provided reinforcement for the team in the arena.
